The Model Two HDCD Processor, designed by Pacific Microsonics, is a stand-alone hardware unit that is ideal for ultra high-quality DVD, DVD-Audio, and CD mastering, as well as tracking and mixing. Model Two HDCD Processors are used by the world's top mastering facilities.

The Model Two features two channels of HDCD A/D conversion, D/A conversion, and digital processing at a wide variety of sampling rates and word lengths.
The Model Two is designed for surround sound, with a Master mode that allows multiple Model Two units to run from a single precision clock. That makes the Model Two a master word sync generator, allowing A/D and D/A conversion to be directly clocked from a precision internal reference. Resolution and accuracy are unmatched, with extremely low distortion.

The Model Two HDCD processor has the ability to make the highest quality digital recordings in any release format. The Model Two encodes CDs with HDCD dither, which allows recordings to achieve a perceived 18bit definition on conventional stereo systems, and a true 20bit playback on an HDCD decoding device. This allows the CDs created at Peerless to have a more lifelike and realistic sound.
